Following is a list of some of the items in the Morgan report that are of special interest in the year 2006 regarding ongoing controversies such as: claims that the overthrow of the monarchy was illegal or was successful only because of U.S. intervention; the apology resolution of 1993; the Hawaiian Government Reorganization bill (Akaka bill). Also included in the Morgan report are important historical documents ignored or suppressed by modern Hawaiian sovereignty activists, showing the very close relationship between the Kingdom of Hawai'i and the United States -- a relationship that was mutually beneficial and mutually enthusiastic.
